Yoga built for the warrior
Prolonged exposure to combat and operational stress are just part of the job for service members and first responders. Warriors receive some of the best training to prepare for facing extreme and dangerous conditions. However, without the tools and training to help to manage the impact of stress and other traumas, those who serve us are vulnerable to developing serious stress-related disorders.
Mind-body practices like yoga are increasingly becoming a more popular adjunct therapy within the military and first responder population. Even the VA has recognized yoga to be highly effective in managing pain and improving systems of depression, anxiety and insomnia.
Our classes are designed specifically meet the needs of our Warriors. WWYP are utilizing the best practices in the industry to ensure veterans, service members and first responders have access to relevant yoga.

Benefits of Yoga for Warriors
Research studies have demonstrated many benefits of yoga which are specifically relevant to veterans, service members, first responders and their families. Occupations that where individuals experience prolonged-exposure to high stress situations or potentially life-threatening events facilitate an overactive “flight or fight” response. The impact on the body and mind can be significant; minimizing performance and resilience while producing high-levels of chemicals that can contribute to sleep deprivation, injury and reduced brain function.
TRAUMA-INFORMED & EVIDENCE-BASED YOGA CAN:

Reduce chronic pain
Decrease symptoms of PTSD, anxiety & depression
Increase Heart Rate Variability (HRV)

And is a widely recommended adjunct therapy
